Autumn Tour Itinerary:

Join us for the ultimate arctic adventure! Become part of a small group of people to drive these remote roads in arctic area. Our route takes us from Whitehorse to Dawson City in the Yukon Territory and further to Inuvik in the Northwest Territories. Here's where the adventure becomes epic – fly to the small Inuit settlement of Tuktoyaktuk on the shores of the frozen Beaufort Sea of the Arctic Ocean. Our travels through this frozen wilderness over gravel roads, mountain passes, frozen rivers and on to the frozen arctic sea impresses upon us an intimate respect for the indigenous peoples of this land. But it's ethereal beauty also reveals why some come to regard Canadian arctic as their favorite place! High above the Arctic Circle we'll witness the 'Aurora Borealis, the natural spectacle of dancing lights in the skies more commonly known as the 'Northern Lights'. We guarantee that this trip will give you a new and different perspective about life in the Far North!

Day 1, Sunday, Vancouver- Whitehorse

We'll greet you at Vancouver international airport and fly via air north to Whitehorse. Visit the historical sternwheeler which had been used in Klondike Gold Rush in 19th century is the main part of this day and we will also show you the town of Whitehorse and Yukon River.

Day 2, Monday, Whitehorse-Inuvik

Start of our adventure trip to the north, we will take a flight and arrive in Inuvik at lunchtime. Cross Arctic Circle and watch Richardson Mountains will become an excited moment in the flight. A full day to explore the Inuvik and Mackenzie Delta. Inuvik is the biggest town inside of Article circle within Canada, but its population is just around 3000 people. There are some unique places where we should visit and Mackenzie Delta is also an attractive view sight place for a tour. We will visit the N. W.T office in Inuvik and everybody will be issued a certificate for crossing the Arctic Circle. We will visit the Igloo shape church which is the marked construction of Inuvik and Culture center where we could obtain the knowledge and history about the native people.  Time permitting we will visit the Canadian northeast post office where you can buy and mail postcards for your family and friends and all of those postcards could be stamped with local remarkable stamp by yourself from the arctic area. We will take our dinner at the best restaurant of Inuvik where we can taste special meal which contains the meat of caribou, moose and arctic fish. We’ll stay in famous Arctic Chalet and have our first nigh within the Arctic Circle.  Aurora Borealis will hang on the sky in the midnight and its mystical and amazing appearance will force everyone who watches it at first glance to show the respect and appreciation. The Aurora Borealis could be watched continued in the midnight.

Day 3, Tuesday, Inuvik-Tuktoyaktuk-Inuvik

This day will be the highlight of this tour. After breakfast we’ll take charter flight onto a side arm of the Mackenzie River and head north towards the delta and the frozen Polar Sea. You will be amazed about the width of the river (up to 100 m / 300 ft wide) in some places. We’ll fly past remote cabins, frozen tug boats and cut-off to exploration camps. After 180 kms / 110 miles we’ll finally reach firm ground at Tuktoyaktuk, a small Inuit town of 1100 people. This is the northernmost point (69’26”) on this tour and we’ll spend some time exploring the town with an old mission vessel, many old cabins and a lot of kids playing on the streets.  The end of Canadian trial will be found at the seashore of Arctic Ocean. We get chance to drop our feet into frozen ocean water or walk on the icy surface.  Pingos, a unique geographic phenomena which just could be founded in this area are attractive spots. We will visit one of the local residents and taste the unique whale meat and have a chance wear the traditional Inuit clothing which were made by caribous, seals or even polar bears.  Time permitting we'll show you RCMP office where the northeast place the law enforced in Canada. By later-afternoon we’ll return to Inuvik .

Day 4, Wednesday, Inuvik - Dawson City

Before leaving the fantastic place, we could be the shop and take one or two pieces of remarked handmade crafts which present the unique culture of Inuit. We will take a flight and arrive in Dawson City in the afternoon. A half day to explore Dawson City and the Gold Rush history. We drive to the Midnight Sun Dome to take in the incredible vistas over the city, the Yukon River and the snow covered gold fields. Walk around town and admire the many old and beautifully restored buildings from over a century ago. Dinner will hold in Jack London Grill where we can taste Jack’s favorite soup and meal. Casino would be a good place to kill time in the long dark wintertime. We will show you the oldest casino in North America and you could have chance to play cards with the real cowboy on the same table.

Day 5, Thursday, Dawson City- Whitehorse

After breakfast we will leave the last signs of civilization behind and drive north on the gravel surface of the Dempster Highway. We will stop often to take in this incredibly beautiful landscape and to take pictures. However, the low temperatures and a nasty wind may hamper our enthusiasm to stay out for very long. We drive past the Tombstone Mountains, a vast treeless plateau and cross two mountain passes before we reach the nearly endless Eagle Plains Plateau. We will take flight to Whitehorse in the afternoon and try to catch the last chance of aurora in Whitehorse.
